Exciting Updates: Budbreak, Merlot Leafing Out & Vineyard Health

Over the past two weeks, we have experienced some of the warmest days on record here in San Miguel! The vineyard is absolutely bursting with activity, and we couldn't be more enthusiastic about what lies ahead. As we transition into April, there are many exciting developments on the horizon. While we remain cautious about the possibility of frost, we are optimistic that those chilly days are behind us.

The next significant milestone will be the blooming of the flowers. Although temperatures are improving, they are still slightly higher than normal, leaving us in suspense about the exact timing of this beautiful event. Rest assured, we are keeping a close watch on the vineyard as nature unfolds its wonders.

In the meantime, Miguel has been hard at work preparing the vineyard for this vibrant season. He planted over 600 clippings over the fall and winter and we successfully completed pruning just in time for bud break. The vineyard is looking absolutely pristine! We are thrilled about the journey ahead and can’t wait to share more updates with you!
